Jordan Brooks
Jordan Brooks is a third-year undergraduate violinist studying at the Royal College of Music with violin professor Radu Blidar, supported by a full ABRSM scholarship. He began violin lessons at the age of seven in South Africa and quickly became a standout performer, winning national competitions and performing as a soloist with local orchestras including the Cape Town Philharmonic. He gained recognition after winning the National Youth Music Competition in 2019.
In 2020 he received a scholarship to study at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, where his highlight was performing as a soloist at the Bridgewater Hall. As a chamber musicians, he has collaborated with Manchester Camerata as well as the Barret duo Institute in Norway. Jordan became a laureate at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition in China (2023), and was the first prize winner of the Royal Overseas league Strings Competition (February 2024). One of the main highlights of his career was performing at the Wigmore Hall for the Grand Final of the ROSL Competition. As a current artist of the Making Music Phillip and Dorothy Green Young Artist Scheme, Jordan has received opportunities to perform numerous recitals and concerts around the UK.
