Michael Ghia
Michael started to play the violin aged five but a year later switched his allegiance to the cello.
He attended The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance, which he left in 2002. However, Michael’s other passion for powerful cars took precedence for several years and he worked for Ferrari and Porsche specialists until 2009.
He has now thankfully returned to the cello and currently freelances and studies with David Powell.
He is principal cellist with the Oxford Sinfonia, currently plays with the National Concert Orchestra of Great Britain and has played with the Spires Philharmonia, Oxford University Orchestra, Oriflame Chamber Orchestra and Beauchamp Sinfonietta among others.
